About us
NASIPITNONS IN EDMONTON
NEA is an association that helps newcomers connect and find information from employment, to
choosing the right career, to getting designations and practicing their career or profession, to
continuing education, advising in preparation of an efficient resume, preparing for the interview,
etc. All the officers and members are immigrants; thus, they understand the challenge
The Nasipitnons in Edmonton Association (NEA) is a non-profit organization and a community association as well. It was formed by some Filipinos in Edmonton, Alberta eight years ago out ofthe need for support, connection and being part of a community. NEA obtained its registration as
non-profit in July 2020. It started as a support group realizing the need for information and services
that were not met by existing resources at that time. It is dedicated to supporting and helping
anyone most especially immigrants or newcomers who made that decision to make Alberta home
NEA Annual Events
NEA have periodically conducted at least four (4) major events held annually. This can also
bring the opportunity to promote and attract newcomers or prospects to mentor. This would be
the best forum to address and make awareness to such services made available through the
proposed volunteers and services to be provided by the association.
The opportunity for the recurring event happens as follows: –
SPRING – this is where leaders usually meet to plan ahead for the whole year’s activities.
This may be a simple event and limited to leaders and volunteers.
SUMMER – this is a get away for everyone to enjoy the season outdoors which are usually
held in Municipal or Provincial Parks. Sometimes they are also held backdoors of a
member’s place who offer the availabilities or an outreach to an out-of-town event.
FALL – this event specifically happens within the Month of September where members join
to celebrate in conjunction with the Fiesta Celebration of Saint Michael Archangel in the
associations home town of Nasipit.
WINTER – this event covers an indoor gala in conjunction with the annual Christmas Party
and a fund-raising activity for our programs and beneficiaries.
